Uzbekistan delegation discusses pharmaceutical infrastructure and medical tourism in Suzhou
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A delegation from the Republic of Uzbekistan, comprising the leadership of the Agency for the Development of the Medical and Pharmaceutical Industry and the State Institution Pharm Service, made a working trip to the city of Suzhou — one of the largest innovative and industrial centers of the People's Republic of China.
Within the framework of the visit, the Uzbek specialists held a series of negotiations with executives of leading Chinese corporations specializing in the design of pharmaceutical infrastructure and the management of international healthcare projects.
During the meeting with the top management of the engineering company Gusu Clean, the focus of attention was placed on issues concerning the technological modernization of Uzbekistan's production sector. The parties discussed in detail the design and integration of specialized clean room systems in strict compliance with rigid international Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards.
The program of potential partnership includes the transfer of advanced Chinese technologies, the systematic professional development of local technical specialists, as well as the provision of expert assistance during the reconstruction of existing and construction of new pharmaceutical plants on the territory of the republic.
The second strategic direction of the mission was the development of the medical tourism industry between Uzbekistan and the PRC, which the delegates discussed during negotiations with representatives of the company Care Navigator. The participants in the dialogue outlined steps to expand direct contacts between international clinics of the two countries and stimulate the mutual export of high-tech medical services.
As part of promoting the national brand, the activities of Health Invest, a specialized organization established in Uzbekistan, were presented to the foreign partners.
The parties engaged in a detailed exchange of views on mechanisms for attracting direct Chinese investment, opening joint multidisciplinary medical centers, introducing innovative diagnostic and treatment technologies, and forming a sustainable flow of foreign patients to clinics in Uzbekistan.
The meetings held are intended to lay the foundation for a deep modernization of the healthcare infrastructure and to bring the republic's pharmaceutical manufacturing to a world-class level of quality.
