Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan’s Central Bank will change the procedure for determining and announcing official exchange rates on the domestic foreign exchange market from 15 September 2026, the regulator’s press service said.

From that date, the calculation of official exchange rates will take into account not only transactions concluded on the currency exchange but also transactions on the interbank over-the-counter foreign exchange market.

The official exchange rate will be determined based on the weighted average rate formed from the results of exchange and over-the-counter transactions.

According to the Central Bank, the new approach will cover a broader range of domestic foreign exchange market transactions when calculating the official exchange rate. This is expected to provide a more accurate reflection of current market conditions.

In addition, the procedure for applying official exchange rates on non-working days will change. On Saturdays, Sundays and other non-working days, the rates published based on the results of the most recent working day will be used.
