Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — The Uzbekistan Business Council in Dubai was established on 26 August 2026 to serve as a platform for direct interaction between Uzbek and local entrepreneurs, according to Uzbekistan's Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade.

The initiative was launched by the UAE representative office of Uzbekistan's Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade, the Embassy of Uzbekistan, and members of the Uzbek business community, with support from the Dubai Chamber of Commerce. The council aims to develop trade and investment ties, identify new business partners, and advance joint initiatives across various economic sectors.

The council held its inaugural meeting at the Dubai Chamber of Commerce headquarters, where participants discussed developing new business opportunities, expanding mutual investments, strengthening inter-company links, exchanging expertise, and hosting joint commercial events.

The council's establishment builds on an expanding economic foundation between the two nations. More than 450 companies operating in Uzbekistan involve UAE capital, with Emirati investments in the country totaling approximately US$3 billion over the past three years. Bilateral trade turnover between Uzbekistan and the UAE reached US$1.2 billion in 2025.

Concurrently, the presence of Uzbek enterprises in Dubai continues to grow. By the end of 2025, 826 active Uzbek companies were registered as members of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce, representing a 21.3 percent year-on-year increase. An additional 75 Uzbek companies joined the chamber during the first half of 2026.

The establishment of the Uzbekistan Business Council creates a permanent mechanism for interaction between entrepreneurs and investors from both sides. The new venue is intended to foster direct business connections, advance joint projects, and strengthen broader trade and investment cooperation between Uzbekistan and the UAE.
