Uzbekistan and South Korea to Expand Digital Agriculture Ties
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Kakhramon Yuldashev, Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan, held a meeting with Chang Jong-ryul, Head of the Official Development Assistance (ODA) Project Management Office of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs of the Republic of Korea (MAFRA).
The negotiations were also attended by directors and specialists from the Department for the Implementation of Information and Communication Technologies and Digitalization of the Agrarian Sector of the Ministry of Agriculture of Uzbekistan. The main topic of the dialogue was bringing the bilateral partnership to a qualitatively new level through the integration of innovations.
During the talks, the sides discussed in detail strategic issues concerning the development of digital agriculture and mechanisms for the wide introduction of modern IT solutions into the agrarian sector of the republic. The meeting participants paid special attention to the joint development and financing of promising projects aimed at the technological modernization of the industry.
In addition, the officials exchanged opinions regarding the prospects of signing a bilateral memorandum of cooperation, which will allow the priority areas of further interaction to be clearly defined and legally established.
Following the meeting, preliminary agreements were reached on the consistent implementation of the designated plans and the step-by-step integration of Korean innovative and digital solutions into the agricultural production of Uzbekistan.
