Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Minister of Digital Technologies of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Sherzod Shermatov, held an official meeting with the founder and chairman of the board of the major Qatari conglomerate MBK Holding, Sheikh Mansoor bin Khalifa Al-Thani.

The meeting was dedicated to exploring the technological potential of the country and discussing the prospects of attracting Qatari investment into the local IT industry.

At the beginning of the visit, the foreign delegation was presented with a detailed overview of the institutional reforms being implemented in the digital economy sector of Uzbekistan.

The Qatari partners familiarized themselves with the IT Park Uzbekistan ecosystem, legal preferences for international companies, support programs for startup projects, and the export dynamics of domestic IT services. The investors showed particular interest in the growth metrics of the hub's residents and achievements in the field of business process outsourcing (BPO).

In addition, specialists from the single integrator UZINFOCOM presented key electronic government projects to the guests, including the modernization of state information systems, the development of a data center network, cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity solutions, and the practical implementation of artificial intelligence technologies.

During the subsequent negotiations, Sherzod Shermatov and Sheikh Mansoor bin Khalifa Al-Thani outlined points of collaboration for launching high-tech initiatives. The parties gave priority attention to the development of human capital and workforce potential in Uzbekistan, noting the high readiness of young Uzbek specialists to integrate into international projects.

The dialogue participants also discussed the infrastructural and legal guarantees being created in the country to protect Qatari investors, as well as the prospects for expanding the remote services sector.

For reference, the Qatari holding company MBK Holding, founded in 1969 in Doha, specializes in digital technologies and venture capital financing, with a portfolio of more than 100 successfully implemented investment projects worldwide.
