Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan’s Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade Laziz Kudratov met with Katsura Miyazaki, Senior Vice President of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), on 5 October.

The sides reviewed the current state and prospects of bilateral cooperation, the implementation of ongoing joint projects and preparations for new initiatives.

Particular attention was paid to the development of free economic zones (FEZs).

The meeting participants highly valued JICA’s technical support in preparing master plans for FEZs and creating conditions to attract foreign investment, including investment from Japanese companies.

Following the talks, the sides signed a new Partnership Programme for 2026–2030. The document provides for the implementation of 15 promising projects.

The initiatives under the programme cover transport and energy infrastructure, human capital development, healthcare and agriculture.
