Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan’s Deputy Minister of Mining Industry and Geology U. Yusupov met with a Japanese delegation led by Japanese Prime Minister’s Special Adviser Yoshimasa Uno on 6 October.

The meeting was also attended by Japan’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Uzbekistan Kenji Hirata.

The sides discussed further development of cooperation between the two countries in business, infrastructure, mining and geology.

Particular attention was paid to cooperation in geological exploration, the extraction and processing of mineral resources. The participants considered opportunities to attract Japanese investment and advanced technologies to these areas.

The prospects for implementing joint investment projects in the mining sector were also discussed separately.

Following the meeting, the sides confirmed their interest in further strengthening cooperation and expanding practical interaction between Uzbekistan and Japan.
