Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan Airways, the national carrier, reported a net profit of 687.5 billion soums for 2024, marking a 67.4% increase compared to the previous year.
The airline’s total assets grew by 0.5% year-on-year to 17.9 trillion soums, while its equity rose by 1.3% to 7.9 trillion soums.
Revenue increased by 19.9%, reaching 17.5 trillion soums, while gross profit climbed by 21.7% to 2.7 trillion soums.
Operating expenses surged significantly from 398.1 billion to 1.5 trillion soums. Foreign exchange gains dropped from 1.5 trillion to 541.1 billion soums, while currency-related expenses decreased from 2.0 trillion to 845.4 billion soums.
Additionally, the previously recorded uncovered loss of 149.9 billion soums was fully settled, and the company’s retained earnings stood at 293.3 billion soums.
Long-term bank loan obligations decreased by 1.0 trillion soums, amounting to 6.8 trillion soums by the end of the year.
