Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) —Uzbekistan and Russian company ADVANCED have agreed to cooperate on developing pharmaceutical production, localizing medicines and transferring advanced technologies.

Abdulla Azizov, director of the Agency for the Development of the Medical and Pharmaceutical Industry, met with representatives of ADVANCED, a Russian company founded by Indian entrepreneur Rajesh Sharma, on 20 August.

Following the meeting, the sides signed a memorandum of cooperation aimed at developing pharmaceutical production in Uzbekistan, the Agency for the Development of the Medical and Pharmaceutical Industry said.

During the talks, the sides discussed prospects for developing pharmaceutical production, localizing medicines and transferring advanced technologies. Particular attention was paid to establishing new production facilities and developing research and development (R&D) activities.

The sides also discussed expanding the range of pharmaceutical products, introducing modern technologies into production processes and manufacturing products in accordance with international quality standards.

ADVANCED representatives were briefed on opportunities for locating pharmaceutical production in Uzbekistan, regional development plans and the conditions created for implementing investment projects.

The memorandum provides for cooperation in developing pharmaceutical production, localizing products, transferring technologies and introducing modern pharmaceutical solutions.
