Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Basaksehir lost 2-1 to Trabzonspor in a matchday two fixture of the Turkish Super Lig, despite a penalty goal from Uzbekistan national team captain Eldor Shomurodov, according to a report.

Trabzonspor opened the scoring in the eighth minute through a goal by Muhammad Salah. Basaksehir was awarded a penalty 11 minutes later, which Shomurodov converted to equalize. Early in the second half, Salah scored his second goal of the match to put the home team back in the lead. The second goal proved decisive, as neither team was able to alter the scoreline before the final whistle despite intense play.

Both Uzbek players on Basaksehir's roster, Shomurodov and Abbasbek Fayzullaev, started the match. Fayzullaev was substituted in the 58th minute for Davie Selke, while Shomurodov played the full 90 minutes.

Following the victory, Trabzonspor moved up to third place in the Super Lig standings with four points. Basaksehir remains in tenth place with three points.
