Uzbekistan mainly traded with Europe and Asia

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Over 97% of foreign trade turnover of Uzbekistan fell to share of Europe and Asia. Share of these continents in foreign trade turnover of Uzbekistan decreased from 97.6% in the first half of 2009 to 97.4% in the same period of 2010.

In January-June 2010, about 56.6% of Uzbekistan’s foreign trade fell to share of Europe against 58.2% in the first six months of 2009. In the reporting period, the share of Asia rose from 39.4% to 40.8%, the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan said.

In the structure of foreign trade turnover, share of American continent grew from 2.1% in January-June 2009 to 2.2% in the first half of 2010 and African continent – from 0.2% to 0.4%. Share of Australia and Oceania in Uzbekistan’s trade turnover decreased to 0.

Foreign trade turnover of Uzbekistan made up US$9.825 billion in January-June 2010 (-0.8% year-on-year). At the same time, Uzbekistan’s exported made up US$6.185 billion and imports – US$3.639 billion.
