Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The resolution of the President “On measures for the further development of the phthisiology and pulmonology service in 2023-2026” was adopted.
According to the resolution:
- phthisiopulmonological departments will be organized on the basis of phthisiatric departments and offices as part of district (city) multidisciplinary central polyclinics;
- the staff unit of the chief pulmonologist from the regional multidisciplinary medical centers will be transferred to the regional centers of phthisiology and pulmonology;
- "Sleep apnea" centers will be organized to diagnose and treat disorders of night sleep quality and respiratory function.
From 2023, it is planned to update annually:
- the number of screening examinations for latent tuberculosis infection - up to 1 million;
- treatment coverage of persons with latent tuberculosis infection - up to 21 thousand;
- coverage of express genetic-molecular diagnostics, which determines the resistance of tuberculosis mycobacteria to 1st-line drugs, as well as simultaneously to 1st- and 2nd-line anti-TB drugs - up to 120,000 studies;
- provision of medicines for tuberculosis patients - up to 18 thousand.
Until 1 March 2023:
- lists of persons belonging to the risk group with a predisposition to tuberculosis will be compiled;
- A unified electronic register of phthisiatric diseases will be developed.
As part of the mobile team "Pulmonary Health", screening activities will be carried out during a free medical examination of the population living in remote, hard-to-reach, environmentally unfavorable areas.
According to the resolution, up to 40 phthisiatricians and pulmonologists selected on a competitive basis will be sent for advanced training to foreign medical centers in 2023-2026.
