Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) -- On 12 February, the XXXVI Extraordinary General Assembly of the National Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan was held.
The Assembly was attended by the Minister of Physical Culture and Sports Dilmurod Nabiev, President of the NOC Rustam Shaabdurakhmanov, executive officer of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Sultonov, vice presidents of the NOC Azizjon Kamilov and Saken Polatov, members of the Executive Committee and media representatives.
The main task on the agenda was the election of the Secretary General of the NOC. Rustam Shaabdurakhmanov nominated Kasimov Oybek Omilovich, who has rich experience in the field of sports. The Assembly participants unanimously supported the candidacy of Oybek Kasimov, and he was elected the new Secretary General of the National Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan.
“Good afternoon, dear Assembly participants. I see that there are no strangers among those present. We are preparing together for the Olympics in Rio. Before that, I worked for 2 years at the Ministry of Physical Culture and Sports and tried to make at least a small contribution to the development of sports in our country. I believe that with the support and assistance of our state at the Tokyo Olympics, we will justify the trust of our Dear President and will please all of Uzbekistan only with victories,” said Oybek Kasimov.
