Mirziyoyev, Jordan Foreign Minister Discuss Expanding Cooperation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received a delegation on 6 July 2026 led by the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Ayman Hussein Safadi.

During the meeting, the sides discussed issues related to the further expansion of multi-faceted cooperation between the two countries.

At the beginning of the talks, the head of the Jordanian delegation conveyed sincere greetings and best wishes to the President of Uzbekistan from King Abdullah II bin Al Hussein of Jordan.

The interlocutors noted with satisfaction that the high-level talks held last year in Samarkand opened a new stage in the development of Uzbek-Jordanian relations.

It was emphasized that within the framework of the reached agreements, inter-parliamentary friendship groups have been created this year, the first meeting of the joint Intergovernmental Commission has been held, a Business Council has been established, and direct air communication has been launched between the two countries.

Special attention during the meeting was paid to the further development of political dialogue, alongside the promotion of joint projects and programs in the trade-economic, investment, and cultural-humanitarian spheres.
