Jamshid Kuchkarov, SUEZ Discuss Water Supply Modernization
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Minister of Economy and Finance, Jamshid Kuchkarov, held an official meeting with a delegation from the French company SUEZ, led by Chief Executive Officer for Central Asia, the Caucasus, and Turkiye, Silver Delaunay.
The agenda of the bilateral talks focused on auditing the current state of the strategic partnership, assessing the dynamics of ongoing joint projects to modernize water supply and wastewater disposal systems, and identifying key vectors for further investment cooperation.
During the interdepartmental consultations, the parties prioritized mechanisms for the effective coordination of project activities, the optimization of management decision-making timelines, and the establishment of systemic operational links between relevant structures.
The dialogue participants emphasized the need to maintain a constant trilateral dialogue at the level of the Ministry of Economy and Finance, the joint-stock company Uzsuvtaminot, and SUEZ management to ensure continuity and the systematic execution of all practical stages of active contracts.
The relevant departments and foreign partners confirmed their mutual readiness to further scale up technological cooperation in the public utilities sector.
Special emphasis was placed on accelerating the development of public-private partnership (PPP) mechanisms, transferring advanced international practices, and integrating innovative digital technologies aimed at fundamentally improving the quality of communal services provided to the population.
The meeting concluded with a legal agreement to continue practical cooperation, intensify construction and installation work within the current portfolio, and jointly develop promising infrastructure initiatives for the water sector of Uzbekistan.
