Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Representatives of IT Park Uzbekistan held a meeting with Kazuhiko Oyoshi, partner at Headline Asia VC, as part of ICT WEEK Uzbekistan 2026.
The sides discussed the development of the venture capital market, support for Uzbek startups and prospects for expanding international cooperation.
One of the topics was Headline Asia’s potential presence in Central Asia. The participants considered the possibility of opening a regional office of the fund and locating its headquarters in Tashkent.
Particular attention was paid to startups founded by Uzbek entrepreneurs in Japan. The sides discussed opportunities to support these companies and attract investment, as well as the potential for connecting them to Headline Asia’s network of investors and partners.
Headline Asia VC is based in Tokyo and primarily invests in technology startups at the Seed and Series A stages.
The fund focuses on areas including e-commerce, logistics, financial technology and artificial intelligence. According to the data presented, the fund has invested in more than 100 startups.
The participants also discussed Headline Asia’s potential expansion into Uzbekistan, engagement with local startups and the development of venture capital cooperation in the region.
Following the meeting, the sides agreed to continue dialogue on helping Uzbek startups enter international markets, engaging with foreign investors, and developing venture investment and regional partnerships.
