Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Global Tech Weekend (GTW), an international network of technology events, has announced its preliminary programme for 2027, with the season set to open in Baku in April before moving to Tashkent in May.

The schedule was announced by GTW US, the US-based organisation coordinating the network’s development across Central Asia, the Caucasus and the United States.

The preliminary calendar also includes Tbilisi in June, Astana in October and Los Angeles in December 2027. Exact dates for each event will be announced later.

Baku will host Global Tech Weekend for the first time in April 2027. Local partners will organise and deliver the event, while GTW US will oversee the programme and speaker selection.

Tashkent will remain one of the network’s host cities, with the next edition scheduled for May 2027. The previous event in the Uzbek capital took place from 15 to 17 May 2026 and attracted around 3,000 participants.

IT Park Uzbekistan served as the main technology partner for the 2026 event and will support the Tashkent edition again in 2027.

The Global Tech Weekend programme covers artificial intelligence, gaming, film and creative technologies. It also includes events designed for companies and institutional partners.

Previous events in the network include GTW Tbilisi 2025, GTW San Francisco 2026, GTW Tashkent 2026 and GTW Tbilisi 2026. Their combined attendance exceeded 30,000 people.

The 2026 gathering in San Francisco was the first event in the network’s history to host a delegation from Central Asia and the Caucasus in the United States.

“Baku and Tashkent will open our 2027 season. Both cities have active and growing technology communities. We want startup founders, companies and institutions to be able to find partners from across the region and the United States there,” said Nodo Ivanidze, founder and chief executive officer of GTW US.

Companies interested in sponsoring events in individual cities, as well as institutions considering partnerships with Global Tech Weekend, can contact the organisers through the network’s website.

GTW US develops the Global Tech Weekend network, bringing together founders, investors, businesses and institutions at technology events across Central Asia, the Caucasus and the United States.

The organisation develops event programmes and invites speakers in cooperation with local partners, who are responsible for organising events in their respective cities.
