Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Georgia’s National Tourism Administration held the Emotions are Georgia Uzbekistan Roadshow 2026 in Tashkent on 8 October, bringing together Georgian tour operators and hotel representatives with their Uzbek counterparts to showcase the country’s tourism offerings and explore opportunities for cooperation.
The Georgian delegation was represented by Maka Makatsaria of the National Tourism Administration. Representatives of the Georgian Embassy in Uzbekistan also attended the event.
“We see significant potential to bring our tourism industries even closer, create new business opportunities and encourage more people to travel between our countries,” Makatsaria said.
She stressed that tourism was about more than numbers. “Tourism is about people, connections and partnerships, which is why today’s event is so important,” she said.
Makatsaria noted that the participation of Georgian tour operators and hotel representatives created valuable opportunities to meet Uzbek industry professionals and develop bilateral ties.
Guests were shown a promotional video titled “Georgia: Few Visit It, You Discover It.” According to Makatsaria, the video brings together the key tourism experiences and products Georgia is currently promoting while showcasing the diversity of what the country has to offer.
She said the video reflects how Georgia wants travellers to discover the country: “not just as a destination, but as a country to explore, experience and remember.”
During the roadshow, a representative of Centrum Air outlined the airline’s flight programme to Georgia. In winter, the airline operates flights from Tashkent to Tbilisi twice a week, on Mondays and Fridays.
Flights to Batumi operate during the summer season, with five flights a week this summer.
The event concluded with a gala dinner, where guests had the opportunity to sample Georgian cuisine.
