Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — The GEOMIN 2026 international conference, held from 14 to 16 September at Hilton Tashkent City, concluded in Tashkent on 16 September, the Ministry of Mining Industry and Geology said.

The event brought together more than 300 specialists in geology and the mining industry from 25 countries, as well as representatives of more than 90 companies and organisations.

Over three days, participants discussed modern approaches to geological exploration and the development of mineral resources. Within two parallel tracks, 22 scientific sessions were held, 97 reports were delivered and eight poster presentations took place.

The main focus was on the digital transformation of the sector, the use of artificial intelligence, the development of national geological databases, 3D modelling, modern geophysical technologies and new methods for prospecting for critical minerals.

A separate part of the programme was an exhibition featuring 27 domestic and foreign companies and organisations. It presented technologies, equipment and software solutions for geological exploration, geophysics, remote sensing, well surveying, mineralogy, the digitalisation of geological data, artificial intelligence and the automation of production processes.

As part of the business programme, the leadership of the Ministry of Mining Industry and Geology held bilateral meetings with representatives of foreign companies and international organisations. The two sides discussed expanding cooperation, attracting investment, introducing modern technologies and training specialists.

A number of documents were signed following the conference, providing for the development of interaction in education, scientific research, digitalisation and technology transfer.

GEOMIN 2026 also served as a platform for professional dialogue between state bodies, geological services, scientific and educational institutions, mining companies and technology businesses.

Participants exchanged practical experience and discussed the further development of geological exploration using digital solutions and modern research methods.

The conference's main programme ended on 16 September. On 17 September, participants will visit facilities of the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Combine, where they will review production sites and the organisation of geological work.
