Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Ferghana plans to establish FSTU Aeroinjinering, a specialised technopark focused on developing technologies for the use of agricultural drones in farming.
The technopark will produce and service unmanned aircraft, train operators and provide services to agricultural producers.
The project is being implemented jointly with a Chinese investor on the basis of Hongsheng Texnologik Rivojlantirish. A one-hectare plot has been allocated for the technopark in the Eco Shahar industrial zone.
The project will establish a full cycle for working with agricultural drones and their components. The company will be able to import, manufacture and assemble such aircraft in Uzbekistan, as well as sell, store, maintain and repair them.
Specialist training will be another area of activity. The technopark will train agricultural drone operators, provide advanced training and conduct certification.
The unmanned aircraft are expected to be used directly in agricultural operations. In particular, they will be used to monitor crops, assess the condition of agricultural land, spray fertilisers and plant protection products, and perform other agricultural tasks.
Safety requirements have been established for operating agricultural drones. The aircraft must not fly higher than 30 metres, and only specialists holding an operator certificate will be permitted to operate them.
The technopark’s infrastructure will include testing grounds and laboratories, research and development centres, as well as training facilities for operators and service and logistics facilities.
The Ministry of Agriculture has been instructed, together with other government agencies, to prepare regulatory requirements governing the production, registration and certification of agricultural drones.
Rules for operator training and requirements for the safe use of unmanned aircraft in agriculture are also to be established.
