Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — India's ERA University is considering the establishment of a specialized clinic in the Republic of Karakalpakstan for the early detection, diagnosis, and treatment of tuberculosis.

This issue was discussed during a meeting between Abdulla Azizov, Director of the Agency for the Development of the Pharmaceutical Industry under the Ministry of Health of Uzbekistan, and the leadership and representatives of the university.

The negotiations took place as part of an official visit by an Uzbek delegation to India on the sidelines of the India-Uzbekistan Business Forum.

The parties discussed prospects for cooperation in medicine, medical education, and scientific research, as well as issues related to improving the quality of medical training and implementing joint projects.

During the meeting, representatives of ERA University initiated a proposal to open a modern specialized clinic in Karakalpakstan focused on the early detection, diagnosis, and treatment of tuberculosis.

Additionally, the meeting participants reviewed opportunities to launch joint educational programs in medical and pharmaceutical specialties, develop academic exchange, conduct scientific research, and enhance professional qualifications of specialists.

Following the meeting, the parties reaffirmed their readiness to expand practical cooperation in medicine and medical education, jointly implement promising projects, and strengthen bilateral ties.
