Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — From 1 November 2026, an updated entry procedure will apply to Uzbek citizens travelling to Egypt. The new requirements include obtaining a visa in advance, restrictions on independent travel and proof of sufficient financial means. The Embassy of Uzbekistan in Cairo said.
According to information received through diplomatic channels, Uzbek citizens will be required to obtain an entry visa in advance through Egyptian diplomatic missions.
Tourist trips to Egypt must be organised through authorised tour operators.
Tourists under the age of 40 will be required to travel to Egypt accompanied by close relatives — parents, a spouse or children. The family must have at least US$5,000 in cash for the duration of the trip.
Those travelling independently and aged over 40 must carry at least US$3,000 in cash.
Upon entering Egypt, citizens will be required to provide a document confirming a hotel reservation, mobile communications details and proof of sufficient financial means.
In addition, during their stay in the country, applications to change a tourist visa to a visa of another type will not be accepted.
Individuals who are unable to provide all the required documents and information may be denied entry to Egypt and returned by the airline on which they arrived.
The Embassy of Uzbekistan in Cairo urges citizens to take the new requirements into account when planning trips to Egypt.
