BP and Uzbekneftegaz Advance Ustyurt Project

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — British energy company BP and Uzbekneftegaz discussed accelerating joint projects in the Ustyurt region during talks in Tashkent on the sidelines of the International Investment Forum.

The meeting was held between BP Business Development Director Michael Fidler and Uzbekneftegaz Chairman Abdugani Sanginov.

The discussions focused on the current status and prospects of joint projects in the Ustyurt region, implemented under a production sharing agreement.

Particular attention was given to accelerating geological exploration work, interpreting geophysical data, and preparing for the start of drilling operations scheduled by the end of 2026.

The parties emphasized the strategic importance of the project and expressed readiness to further expand cooperation for its successful implementation.

Uzbekneftegaz stated that it will provide full support for the execution of the project.
