Artificial Intelligence Cluster Opens at TUIT
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — An Artificial Intelligence Cluster has opened at the Muhammad al-Khwarizmi Tashkent University of Information Technologies (TUIT). The new center was established to develop artificial intelligence technologies in Uzbekistan, strengthen scientific potential, and build an innovative ecosystem.
The opening ceremony was attended by B. Khodjaev, head of the Department of Financial Technologies, Digitalization, and Artificial Intelligence of the Presidential Administration; Z. Mutalov, head of the Department for the Development of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Technologies of the Cabinet of Ministers; Sh. Shermatov, Minister of Digital Technologies; as well as representatives of government agencies, IT companies, universities, faculty members, young scientists, and students.
The newly established cluster integrates educational activities, scientific research, and innovative projects onto a single platform. A modern GPU cluster and high-performance, multifunctional servers have been handed over to the center. This equipment will be utilized to develop artificial intelligence models, process large datasets, execute machine learning projects, and conduct applied scientific research.
The structure of the cluster also includes the newly operational AI Laboratory, AI Prototyping Room, and AI Lecture Room. These spaces are designed for implementing projects in artificial intelligence, 3D design, the Internet of Things (IoT), and developing innovative startups involving students and young researchers.
During the event, the artificial intelligence module of the ServSig project was launched, promising startups and scientific developments were presented, and priority areas for the development of artificial intelligence technologies were discussed.
According to the organizers, the opening of the Artificial Intelligence Cluster marks an important stage in strengthening the scientific and technological potential of the university, supporting youth innovation initiatives, and advancing the artificial intelligence ecosystem in Uzbekistan.
