Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — The SI Davomat (“AI Attendance”) attendance monitoring system is planned to be introduced in another 302 schools in Tashkent in 2027–2028. The plans are set out in an order issued by the Tashkent mayor on 6 October.

The system is currently being piloted in 26 schools in Sergeli district, where 446 smart cameras have been installed.

The testing results are expected to serve as the basis for a phased rollout of the technology in other general education institutions across the capital.

According to the Tashkent city administration, smart cameras and Face ID technology allow the system to record students’ arrival at school and their attendance in classes.

The data collected is intended to be used to study the reasons for absences in greater detail, facilitate interaction between families and schools, and provide children with the necessary support in a timely manner.

At the same time, SI Davomat is viewed not only as an attendance monitoring tool. The system is also expected to analyze the organization of the educational process, student activity and teaching methods by subject, class and teacher.

The Tashkent mayor’s order refers to a protocol of instructions issued by the President of Uzbekistan on 4 September, which provides for measures to improve attendance in general education schools in the capital and introduce the relevant system across all schools.

Tashkent currently has more than 500 state schools and about 150 private educational institutions.
