"Jyeh-fahng."
since 1956Jiefang is China's oldest truck brand, practically a twin of China FAW Group itself: the first light truck, the Jiefang CA-10, rolled off the line in 1956, just three years after the Changchun plant opened with Soviet engineering help. Jiefang has consistently ranked among China's top three heavy-truck makers, alongside Dongfeng and SAIC-Iveco Hongyan.
Distinguishing feature
Jiefang translates as "Liberation" — the name given to the first mass-produced truck of China's new industrial era, unchanged for more than 70 years.
