Jetour

"Jie Tu" — not "jee-TOUR" or "zhe-TOUR," as it's often said

Jetour was born in 2018 as Chery's answer to a new generation of buyers — people looking not just for a car, but a reason to hit the road. The name is almost always mispronounced ("jee-TOUR," "zhe-TOUR") — in fact it's "Jie Tu," which translates as "shortest path." Not a route on a GPS, but the direct road to what actually matters. The first in the family was the X70 crossover — built on the Tiggo 8 platform, but with its own character: an emphasis on space, long-drive comfort, and enough toughness for routes where the pavement runs out before the trip does. Today Jetour occupies its own niche in Chery's hierarchy — between mass-market Chery and premium EXEED, alongside Omoda and Jaecoo — as the brand for which the journey matters more than the destination.

Distinguishing feature

Jetour isn't selling specs — it's selling a lifestyle: its audience are people for whom the road itself is the goal, and the car is a partner in that movement, not just a means of transport.
