Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The second event of the Y-Fikri youth discussion platform was held at the Youth Creativity Center in Andijan. The event, including a lively discussion and exchange of ideas, was attended by 48 young activists from Andijan region.

The event was opened by Doina Munteanu, UNDP Deputy Resident Representative in Uzbekistan, Farrukh Omonov, Deputy Director of the Youth Affairs Agency of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and Oybek Yuldashev, Head of the Andijan Regional Office of the Youth Affairs Agency.

The role of broad-minded, enthusiastic and progressive young people in the implementation of the reforms of today's Uzbekistan is of utmost importance. In order to support such young people, to effectively implement state youth policy through learning their ideas, identifying their social problems on a systematic basis, discovering modern approaches to solving problems, the Youth of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the framework of the UN joint program "Social Harmony of Fergana Youth", a youth discussion platform "Y-Fikri" was created for the youth of the Fergana Valley.

It should be noted that in the last less than a month, the number of young people who have applied for participation in this platform at www.yoshlarfikri.uz reached 117. 

To date, the website of the youth opinion platform has received applications from 36 young people from Andijan. At the first event speakers tried to raise awareness on such issues as youth employment in the region, developing entrepreneurship among young people, developing the education system, strengthening the role of women in society, developing useful projects for young people, supporting young families, developing sports and culture. reflected their views and suggestions on how to solve the problems of the local population through modern ICT tools. 

The advantage of participating in the Y-Fikri youth discussion platform is that the speaker offers specific solutions and measures to the problem raised with specific examples on any topic (not exceeding 10 minutes). The platform serves as a bridge between youth and both national and international organizations, and makes sure that in the future the proposals will be communicated through the Youth Affairs Agency of the Republic of Uzbekistan and brought to the governmental level. In short, the development of the regions, effective governance and the solution to the youth problems will be taken into considerations in designing future reforms.

The event was attended by active youth of the region who were eager to share their experiences and issues in public life, projects and proposals aimed at promoting the rights and personal development of youth and children. Speaker presentations were followed by open discussion, where the audience was given a chance to join.
