Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In connection with the Day of Trade Unions of Uzbekistan, a festive event was held at the State Academic Bolshoi Theater of Uzbekistan named after Alisher Navoi under the slogan "New Uzbekistan - new trade unions".

The event was attended by the Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Tanzila Narbaeva, representatives of the Federation of Trade Unions of Uzbekistan and its territorial councils, republican councils of branch trade unions, partner ministries, departments and organizations, foreign trade union centers, activists and workers in various fields.

At the beginning of the event, the Congratulation of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to trade union workers was read out.

At the solemn event, an emphasis was placed on the large-scale and systemic reforms and innovations carried out at the initiative of the President over the past 5 years, aimed at ensuring human interests in all spheres of society, and their significant results.

The new trade unions of Uzbekistan also take an active part in the updates and changes carried out in our country. They carry out systematic work to protect the socio-economic interests and labor rights of workers in various fields.

During the event, the most active, selfless and initiative people were awarded, who in recent years have contributed worthy work for the good of the Motherland, the well-being of our people, as well as in the development of the trade union movement.

In particular, a group of compatriots who take an active part in the development of our Motherland and strengthening its power were awarded the Ekhtirom Nishoni badge of the Federation of Trade Unions of Uzbekistan for their merits in protecting the socio-economic rights and interests of workers, enhancing the authority of trade unions.

The awards "Laureate of the Federation of Trade Unions of Uzbekistan" were awarded to 14 representatives of the sphere of production, agriculture, education, science and literature, health care, culture and art, sports, services, communications, law and order, who by their activities are an example for everyone, their achievements have made a significant contribution in the socio-economic development of the republic and strengthening its position in the international community, raising the standard of living and protecting the health of the population, developing science, culture and sports, as well as increasing the authority of trade unions.

Over the past period, in the "women’s notebook" system, trade unions, together with responsible ministries and departments, khokimiyats, conducted dialogues with more than 6.5 million women and positively resolved the problems of almost 900 thousand women. The state allocated funds in the amount of 1 trillion 951 billion soums to support and solve the problems of women. About 100 thousand calls from women to the 1211 hotline launched by the Federation of Trade Unions were effectively resolved.
