Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- At the thirty-fifth plenary session of the Senate, the results of studying work to create new jobs and ensure employment in Tashkent region and the city of Tashkent were discussed.

It was noted that the introduction of a system of work in the context of mahallas and the institute of assistant khokims creates the basis for the earliest possible solution of problems in the regions, systematic study of population problems, and timely complete resolution of pressing issues.

In particular, based on the recommendations of the khokims’ assistants, within the framework of family business development programs, 7.2 trillion soums of concessional loans were allocated for 306 thousand projects, subsidies in the amount of 84.4 billion soums were allocated to almost 17.3 thousand citizens in order to start entrepreneurial activities and securing employment in the household. 326.5 thousand people were employed for vacant jobs, almost 112 thousand citizens were trained in professions and entrepreneurial skills.

During the discussions, it was noted that within the framework of territorial programs, 431 investment projects were launched in the Tashkent region and 128 in the city of Tashkent, as a result of which over 14.5 thousand new jobs were created. Self-employment of 49.9 thousand citizens was provided in the Tashkent region and 46.1 thousand citizens in the city of Tashkent in more than 70 areas of activity.

Members of the Senate, along with positive work to ensure employment of the population, drew attention to the presence of some shortcomings and problems, including the backlog in some areas (cities) of the implementation of the annual employment program, inefficient organization of the activities of the headquarters coordinating the relevant work.

It was noted that when compiling a general report on jobs, the indicators did not fully comply with the database of state tax authorities and the interdepartmental software and hardware complex "Unified National Labor System".

The need for a systematic allocation of subsidy funds from the fund for attracting the population to entrepreneurship was also indicated in order to train students as craftsmen who teach young people a craft based on the traditions of Ustashogird, purchase the necessary raw materials and provide students with wages, as well as more efficient organization of the placement of land plots in the Tashkent region. area on the electronic trading platform "e-auksion.uz".

Especially, it was emphasized that people’s deputies in city and district Kengashes need to develop effective mechanisms for systematic discussion of the results at the end of each month and taking measures to create new jobs and ensure employment.

The senators gave recommendations to the district (city) Kengashes of people’s deputies on the study and critical discussion at the sessions of the issues of creating new jobs, ensuring employment of the population based on a system of work in the context of mahallas, the effective use of reserved (quota) jobs for those in need of social protection and persons having difficulty finding a job

Proposals for resolving the issues raised during the discussions were reflected in the adopted resolution of the Senate.
