"Victory Readings" in Tashkent: A living memory of generations

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 15 April, a large-scale international literary and musical event took place at the Tashkent History Museum as part of the "Victory Readings" series, dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Victory in World War II.

The key theme of the Tashkent event was Uzbekistan’s contribution to the collective Victory. The program featured prominent cultural figures from Russia and Uzbekistan:

— Dmitry Kharatyan, People's Artist of Russia (born in Almalyk);

— Mansur Tashmatov and Abzal Rafikov, People's Artists of Uzbekistan;

— Anastasia Penkova, Honored Artist of Uzbekistan;

— Feruza Khaldarova, People's Artist of Tatarstan and Bashkortostan;

— Artists from the leading theaters of the country: the State Youth Theater of Uzbekistan, the State Academic Russian Drama Theater of Uzbekistan, and the Ferghana Regional Russian Drama Theater.

On stage, works by Sharaf Rashidov, Gafur Gulyam, Rasul Gamzatov, Bulat Okudzhava, Robert Rozhdestvensky, Anna Akhmatova, and other authors were performed, whose lines have become part of the immortal chronicle of the wartime years.

The event was accompanied by live music, video projections, and heartfelt performances, creating an atmosphere of unity and gratitude to the heroes of the war.

"Victory Readings" is an international humanitarian project that preserves the memory of the feats of soldiers and workers on the home front. Through the power of art, it passes the torch of memory to new generations. The project has already united Moscow, Volgograd, Kaliningrad, and now Tashkent.
