Uzhydromet warns of mudflow and flood risks in eight regions of Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — From 25 to 30 April, mudflow and flood events are expected in eight regions of Uzbekistan due to upcoming rainfall, according to Uzhydromet. The risks are observed in the foothill and mountainous areas of the following regions:

Kashkadarya Region: Yakkabagh, Dehkanabad, Chirakchi, Kitab, Shakhrisabz, Kamashi, and Guzar districts.

Surkhandarya Region: Sariasi, Uzun, Altinsay, Denau, Baysun, Sherabad, Shurchi, Kumkurgan, and Muzrabat districts.

Samarkand Region: Urgut, Samarkand, Bulungur, Nurabad, Kattakurgan, Koshrabad, Payaryk, Jambay, and Ishtikhan districts.

Jizzakh Region: Zaamin, Bakhmal, Gallaorol, Sharof Rashidov, Farish, and Yangiabad districts.

Tashkent Region: Akhangaran, Bostanlyk, Parkent, Pskent, Urtachirchik, Yukorichirchik districts and the cities of Angren and Almalyk.

Namangan Region: Pap, Kasansay, Chartak, Chust, Namangan, and Yangikurgan districts.

Ferghana Region: Sokh, Ferghana, and Besharyk districts.

Andijan Region: Andijan, Asaka, Jalakuduk, Kurgantepa, Pakhtaabad, Izbaskan, Khojaabad, Markhamat districts and the city of Khanabad.

Residents of these areas, as well as tourists and drivers traveling to mountainous regions, are advised to take precautionary measures.

In some areas, accumulation of rainwater may occur, potentially leading to flooding.
