Uzbekistan’s Permanent Population Reaches 38 Million

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — As of 09:35 on 28 August 2025, the permanent population of Uzbekistan, according to the National Statistics Committee, reached 38 million people.

The population by gender is as follows:

• Men – 19,136,800
• Women – 18,863,200

Thus, the number of men in the country exceeds that of women by 273,600.

While the global average fertility rate is 2.2 children per woman, in Uzbekistan the average is 3.5 children per woman.

Unlike global trends, this indicator in Uzbekistan has been rising rapidly since 2012, when it stood at 2.3.
