Uzbekistan’s Oil and Fuel Imports Rise in Early 2026
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — In January–February 2026, Uzbekistan imported oil products and fuel-energy goods totaling US$304.7 million, US$95.4 million more than the same period in 2025, when imports amounted to US$209.3 million, according to the Uzbekistan Customs Committee.
The largest increase was in gasoline imports: during the first two months of 2026, the country imported 279,200 tons of gasoline worth US$165.9 million, compared to 135,900 tons valued at US$78.5 million in January–February 2025. Diesel fuel imports also rose, from 66.4 million kg worth US$53.9 million in 2025 to 89.6 million kg valued at US$71.5 million in 2026.
Imports of engine and transmission oils increased from 13.7 million kg worth US$23.8 million to 17.1 million kg valued at US$29.9 million. Other liquid fuels grew from 6.7 million kg (US$4.1 million) to 36.9 million kg (US$19.2 million). Kerosene imports rose from 4 million kg (US$3.9 million) to 8.7 million kg (US$8.7 million).
Meanwhile, light distillate deliveries declined from 47.2 million kg worth US$31 million to 15.7 million kg valued at US$8 million, and fuel oil imports dropped from 39.5 million kg (US$14 million) to 5.5 million kg (US$1.5 million). No other petroleum products were imported in either 2025 or 2026.
