Uzbekistan’s Foreign Trade Turnover Reaches US$81.2 Billion in 2025, Up 20.7%
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — In January–December 2025, Uzbekistan’s foreign trade turnover amounted to US$81.2 billion, increasing by US$13.93 billion compared with 2024, or by 20.7%. This was reported by the National Statistics Committee.
Of the total foreign trade turnover, exports reached US$33.81 billion, up 24.0% year on year, while imports amounted to US$47.35 billion, an increase of 18.5% compared with 2024. As a result, a trade deficit of US$13.54 billion was recorded.
The Republic of Uzbekistan maintains trade relations with 210 countries worldwide. The largest shares of foreign trade turnover were recorded with China at 21.2%, Russia at 16.0%, Kazakhstan at 6.1%, Türkiye at 3.7%, and the Republic of Korea at 2.1%.
In the structure of exports, goods accounted for 71.1%, including industrial products at 11.8%, food products and live animals at 8.7%, chemicals and related products at 6.3%, and miscellaneous manufactured articles at 5.0%.
The main partners in Uzbekistan’s exports of goods and services within foreign trade turnover in January–December 2025 were Russia with 12.8%, China with 7.3%, Kazakhstan with 4.6%, Afghanistan with 4.5%, Türkiye with 3.4%, France with 2.6%, the Kyrgyz Republic with 2.3%, the UAE with 2.1%, Tajikistan with 2.0%, and Pakistan with 1.0%. Their combined share exceeded 40.0% of total exports.
In January–December 2025, exports of fruit and vegetable products amounted to 2.16 million tonnes, which was 6.2% higher than in 2024, or an increase of 126,600 tonnes.
The value of fruit and vegetable exports during the period reached US$2.12 billion, representing growth of 36.9% compared with 2024. The share of fruit and vegetable products in total exports stood at 6.3%.
At the end of January–December 2025, exports of textile products totaled US$2.63 billion, accounting for 7.8% of total exports, and decreased by 8.2% compared with 2024.
In the structure of textile exports, the largest share was held by finished textile products at 54.3%, followed by yarn at 27.0%.
Exports of services in January–December 2025 amounted to US$9.76 billion, or 28.9% of total trade exports, and increased by 28.9% compared with 2024. Within service exports, the largest shares were travel services (tourism) at 50.0%, transport services at 33.0%, telecommunications, computer and information services at 9.4%, and other business services at 3.0%.
During the period under review, imports totaled US$47.35 billion, up 18.5% compared with 2024. The largest shares in the import structure were machinery and transport equipment at 33.8%, industrial goods at 15.3%, and chemicals and related products at 11.8%.
An analysis of import dynamics showed that in January–December 2025, compared with 2024, the volume of goods imports increased by US$6.79 billion to US$42.08 billion, while imports of services reached US$5,270.6 million.
Overall, in January–December 2025, Uzbekistan imported goods and services from more than 180 countries. More than 60.0% of total imports were accounted for by major partner countries, including China at 31.2%, Russia at 18.3%, Kazakhstan at 7.2%, Türkiye at 4.0%, the Republic of Korea at 3.5%, Germany at 2.7%, and India at 2.4%.
The volume of service imports in January–December 2025 amounted to US$5,270.6 million, or 11.1% of total imports, and increased by 12.7% compared with 2024.
