Uzbekistan’s Foreign Ministry: No Citizens Among Casualties in the Middle East
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan has confirmed that, at present, no Uzbek citizens have been killed or injured amid the escalating situation in the Middle East, the ministry’s press service reported.
“Currently, there are no deceased or injured citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The situation remains under constant monitoring,” the official statement reads.
The ministry emphasized that, under the directive of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, systematic measures are being taken to ensure the safe return of Uzbek nationals. Regular and additional flights are being organized in accordance with the evolving situation, with priority given to the safety of citizens. These efforts are ongoing on a continuous basis.
According to the ministry, systematic evacuation is currently underway from Saudi Arabia. A repatriation flight by Uzbekistan Airways from the United Arab Emirates has been arranged, and coordination is in progress with airlines and aviation regulators in the region regarding charter flights.
The MFA noted that evacuation opportunities are objectively limited due to closed airspace and the ongoing “air attack” regime. Nevertheless, diplomatic services continue to operate around the clock, monitoring developments and taking all necessary measures to ensure the safety and return of Uzbek citizens.
