Uzbekistan’s Female Population Surpasses 18.9 Million
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — As of 1 January 2026, the female population in Uzbekistan reached 18,979,000, according to the National Statistics Committee.
Women make up 49.6% of the country’s permanent population.
The largest number of women resides in Samarkand region, with 2,172,400, followed by Ferghana region with 2,091,200 and Kashkadarya region with 1,831,600.
In Andijan region, the female population totals 1,737,400. In the city of Tashkent, it reaches 1,616,900, while in Tashkent region it is 1,574,300.
Namangan region has 1,568,500 women, and Surkhandarya region — 1,486,600.
In Bukhara region, the female population is 1,050,400; in Khorezm region — 1,032,300; and in the Republic of Karakalpakstan — 1,021,700.
Jizzakh region counts 776,000 women, Navoi region — 548,700, and Syrdarya region — 471,000.
