Uzbekistan’s Consulate Arranges Repatriation of Deceased Minor from Rostov Region

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Diplomats from the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Russia took all necessary measures to repatriate the body of a minor Uzbek citizen, H.A., who died in a fire in the city of Bataysk, Rostov Region, Dunyo news agency reported.

According to the consulate, a Uzbek citizen, B.Y., requested assistance, explaining that his granddaughter, H.A., born in 2019, had perished in a fire that also destroyed all of the child’s documents, complicating the preparation of paperwork and organization of the repatriation process.

The consulate promptly coordinated with the relevant medical authorities in Russia and took steps to ensure the swift return of H.A. to Uzbekistan. Within one working day, a certificate for repatriation was issued in the child’s name. The body was transported on a Uzbekistan Airways flight at the expense of the Migration Agency Fund.

It is noted that H.A.’s parents had previously died in a road traffic accident.
