Uzbekistanis urges to refrain from traveling by car to Kazakhstan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- According to the information of the diplomatic missions of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the Republic of Kazakhstan, due to unfavorable weather conditions throughout the country, there has been an increase in requests from citizens who, due to severe frosts, have found themselves in a difficult situation on the highways of Kazakhstan, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan.

During these days, several cases of evacuation of Uzbeks were reported. So, two drivers of a truck with a load of fruit, which broke down on the 75th kilometer of the Samara-Shymkent highway, needed help. They were taken to a campsite in a warm place.

In addition, an intercity passenger bus stopped 20 kilometers from the center of the Irgiz district due to road closures. It contained 38 citizens of Uzbekistan and 3 citizens of Kazakhstan. They were placed in a secondary school in the village of Irgiz.

Assistance was also needed for passengers of another passenger bus in Aitekebiy district at the 968th kilometer of the Samara-Shymkent highway, 2 km from the village of Karabutak. It contained 31 citizens of Uzbekistan. Passengers were placed in the mosque of the village of Karabutak.

The diplomatic missions of Uzbekistan are in constant contact with compatriots and relevant bodies of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Citizens are provided with the necessary consular, legal and practical assistance.

"In view of the foregoing, we recommend that citizens of Uzbekistan refrain from traveling through the territory of Kazakhstan by means of vehicles and buses until the weather conditions stabilize," the report says.
