Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In her speech at the next meeting of the Dialogue of Women Leaders of Central Asia, Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Tanzila Narbaeva stressed that this forum is a good opportunity to share information on the achievements of our countries, further plans to ensure gender equality and discuss the prospects for the development of regional interaction between women in all areas of cooperation that meet common interests.
It was emphasized that this year marks the 30th anniversary of the Central Asian states gaining independence. During this period, large-scale political and socio-economic transformations have been carried out to ensure stable development and strengthen national statehood.
A huge amount of work has also been done in the field of ensuring gender equality through the creation and strengthening of legislative and institutional frameworks and the development of international cooperation.
Tanzila Narbaeva noted that the foundation laid by all participants in the Dialogue will contribute to the development and strengthening of regional cooperation between women of Central Asia in the areas of public administration, preventive diplomacy, environmental protection, entrepreneurship and business, culture, education, science, art and gender equality in the whole.
It was emphasized that, within the framework of its chairmanship in the Dialogue of Women Leaders of Central Asia, the Uzbek side intends to make every effort to turn the interaction mechanism into a new, high-quality platform of consultations aimed at developing comprehensive cooperation between women in the region.
The head of the upper house of parliament also noted the main directions of activities that are provided for in the Dialogue Action Plan for 2021, as well as in the Roadmap for cooperation between women entrepreneurs in the field of sustainable development.
Within the framework of the forum, a declaration was adopted on the results of the Dialogue of Women Leaders of Central Asian Countries. This document stipulates the empowerment of women in all spheres of life.
