Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Vaccination with the second and third doses of the Chinese-Uzbek vaccine ZF-UZ-VAC-2001 was temporarily suspended in Uzbekistan.
The Sanitary-Epidemiological Welfare and Public Health Service has instructed from 9 August 2021 to use the reserves of the ZF-UZ-VAC-2001 vaccine for the first dose only.
Vaccinations with the second and third doses were ordered to be suspended for a week “until further notice.
The Sanitary-Epidemiological Welfare and Public Service notes that Uzbekistan has received vaccines from different manufacturers and it is required to carry out calculations and enter data into the system, as well as to streamline the list of persons who should receive the second and third doses.
As of 8 August, more than 10 million doses of vaccines have been used in Uzbekistan. At the same time, 6.3 million people were vaccinated with the first dose, and 2.31 million people were vaccinated with the second. Some 887,920 people were fully vaccinated.
