Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - On the night of 27 April, Uzbekistan received the second batch of the Russian Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Health. 

About 50,000 doses of the second component of the vaccine were delivered to Uzbekistan. Vaccination with the first component starts this week.

Uzbekistan received the first batch of Sputnik V on 23 April. The volume of the batch was not specified.

It should be noted that Uzbekistan plans to purchase 1 million doses of Sputnik V. Half of the cost of the entire volume of "Sputnik V" was financed by the entrepreneur Alisher Usmanov.

Uzbek Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov recently announced that by the end of April, Uzbekistan will receive 300,000 doses of the Russian vaccine.
