The first plenary session of the online forum was dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the European Convention on Human Rights and the experience of different countries in its implementation. “The pandemic that we all faced, in terms of its rate and scale of spread, has grown into an unprecedented global crisis, has become a very serious challenge for all mankind and the world economy,” A. Saidov stressed. - It does not recognize borders, nation, religion or race.

I am confident that today we will formulate common approaches and coordinate our actions in order to jointly quickly and effectively resolve emerging issues of protecting human rights in a pandemic. "

The participants in the presentation were familiarized in detail with the activities that are being taken in Uzbekistan in order to establish effective surveillance over the epidemiological situation based on the best international practice.

“Uzbekistan, like the entire international community, is accepting the most serious challenge to humanity in modern history - the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic. Thanks to the effective anti-epidemic measures taken in a timely manner by the Government of Uzbekistan, the country manages to minimize the consequences of the pandemic. We are learning to live in a pandemic,” said the head of the National Center for Human Rights.
