Uzbekistan condemns terrorist attack in Shiite mosque in Kandahar

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - Uzbekistan strongly condemns another terrorist act committed on 15 October 2021 in a mosque in Kandahar province, which led to numerous casualties, the Uzbek Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

An explosion in a mosque in the Afghan province of Kandahar killed 32 people and injured more than 70.

Such inhuman attacks provoke an escalation of tensions and impede the establishment of long-term peace in Afghanistan.

“We welcome the efforts of the Afghan authorities to take additional measures to prevent such incidents in the country,” the ministry said.

The Government of Uzbekistan expresses its sincere condolences to the families and loved ones of the victims, and also wishes the victims a speedy recovery.
