Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Today, in the building of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC), the Ambassador of Uzbekistan Botirjon Asadov met with the Chairman of the EEC Board Mikhail Myasnikovich, Dunyo news agency reported.
The ambassador introduced the newly appointed adviser of the Embassy for cooperation with the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and at the same time the representative of Uzbekistan in the EEC Shukhrat Shukurov.
He is 49 years old. He is a graduate of the Moscow Institute of Economics and Statistics and the Academy of State and Social Construction under the President of Uzbekistan, he has 27 years of experience in public service. Prior to his current appointment, he served as First Deputy Director of the Institute for Forecasting and Macroeconomic Research under the Ministry of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction of Uzbekistan.
The Chairman of the EEC Board received a letter from Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov on the appointment of a representative of Uzbekistan in the commission.
Mikhail Myasnikovich welcomed the decision of the Government of Uzbekistan on the appointment, which, according to him, testifies to the progressive movement of the republic to establish a constructive dialogue with the EEC, and wished the representative of our country success in this responsible post.
On the same day, meetings were also held with a member of the Board (Minister) for Integration and Macroeconomics of the EEC Sergey Glazyev and a member of the Board (Minister) for Trade of the EEC Andrei Slepnev.
Uzbekistan received the status of an observer state under the EAEU on 11 December 2020 by the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council.
