Uzbekistan and Vietnam launch a series of new projects

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A business roundtable ўа Uzbekistan and Vietnam was held in Tashkent as part of the official visit of Tran Thanh Man, Chairman of the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

The event brought together Uzbekistan’s Deputy Prime Minister Jamshid Khodjaev, Vietnam’s Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha, heads of relevant ministries and agencies from both countries, as well as representatives of leading Vietnamese companies such as Petrovietnam, Vinachem, Sovico, Vietnam Airlines, Vinafood, Vietravel, Perseus, and Delion.

The main focus of the discussions was the strengthening of bilateral trade, economic, and investment cooperation. Particular attention was given to collaboration in the fields of energy, oil and gas, chemical industry, agriculture, healthcare, digitalization, tourism, and pharmaceuticals.

Jamshid Khodjaev emphasized the importance of the Uzbekistan–Vietnam dialogue and expressed Uzbekistan’s readiness to actively implement joint initiatives aimed at developing industrial partnerships, facilitating technology exchange, and improving logistics connectivity.

In turn, the Vietnamese delegation reaffirmed its commitment to actively participating in joint projects, creating joint ventures, increasing mutual trade volumes, launching new direct flights, and opening Uzbek trade houses in Vietnam.

Executives from Vietnamese companies such as Petrovietnam, Sovico, and Delion voiced strong interest in implementing projects in energy, aviation, digital transformation, the food industry, and ICT.

Tran Thanh Man expressed his gratitude to the government and people of Uzbekistan for the warm welcome and noted that the dialogue was a continuation of talks with President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, during which agreements were reached to expand strategic partnership and strengthen trade and investment cooperation.

At the conclusion of the roundtable, several key documents were signed, including a Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministries of Health of both countries, a Cooperation Program between the Foreign Ministries of Uzbekistan and Vietnam for 2025–2026, and a Practical Action Plan for the development of bilateral cooperation during the same period.

These documents outline concrete steps to deepen engagement, such as the creation of joint working groups, organization of business forums, opening of trade houses, holding of roadshows, and the launch of direct air routes.

Both sides also plan to advance projects in agriculture, the oil and gas and chemical sectors, pharmaceuticals, and geological exploration.

The roundtable marked an important step toward deepening a multifaceted and long-term partnership aimed at unlocking the economic potential of both nations.
