Uzbekistan and Turkey intend to bring mutual trade up to US$5 billion.

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan and Turkey intend to bring mutual trade turnover to US$5 billion by 2023. This was announced during the 6th meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation between Uzbekistan and Turkey.

A Turkish delegation headed by Vice President Fuat Oktay is visiting Uzbekistan. Within the framework of the visit, the 6th meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation between Uzbekistan and Turkey took place.

During the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sardor Umurzakov noted that during negotiations with Fuat Oktay, the parties agreed to take the necessary measures to increase trade between the countries to US$5 billion.

Sardor Umurzakov stressed that Uzbekistan and Turkey plans to bring mutual trade turnover to US$4 billion by the end of 2021 and US$5 billion by the end of 2022.

Vice President Fuat Oktay confirmed the intentions of the parties and added that after reaching the goal of US$5 billion, the parties will work to increase trade to US$10 billion.
