Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbek Ambassador Rakhmatulla Nurimbetov held a series of meetings with Åke Nordlander, CEO of the Swedish Export Credit Agency (EKN), during which both sides discussed strategic mechanisms for financially supporting bilateral trade and economic relations.
According to Dunyo, the dialogue focused primarily on leveraging EKN’s export credit instruments to encourage Swedish investment in Uzbekistan’s economy.
Officials also emphasized improving Uzbekistan’s international credit ratings, a critical prerequisite for expanding institutional dialogue and attracting sustainable investment.
The meeting resulted in a fundamental agreement to advance the most promising joint projects under the “Team Sweden” framework, which unites key Swedish government and business structures to support exports and investment.
Priority sectors for long-term collaboration were identified as those critical to infrastructure modernization. Special attention was given to the development of sustainable energy and the extraction of strategic minerals essential for high-tech industries.
