Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 18 December 2021, negotiations of the Uzbek delegation taking part in an extraordinary meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation with the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Shah Mahmood Qureshi were held in Islamabad.
During the conversation, the two countries’ efforts to expand cooperation in the Afghan sector were discussed, in particular, in the issue of rendering humanitarian and other assistance to the Afghan people.
The Pakistani side welcomed the initiative of the Republic of Uzbekistan to create a logistics hub in the city of Termez in order to provide emergency humanitarian assistance to Afghanistan.
The parties expressed mutual interest in continuing bilateral consultations on Afghan issues, in particular, within the framework of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
During the meeting, issues of bilateral relations, as well as interaction within the framework of international organizations were also considered.
