Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — During the visit of the Uzbek delegation to Latvia, a meeting was held with the Minister of Welfare of Latvia, Uldis Augulis.

During the talks, the parties discussed cooperation in the field of labor migration, with particular focus on attracting skilled specialists from Uzbekistan.

An agreement was reached on regular cooperation and joint work on the signing of a bilateral agreement on labor migration cooperation.

Furthermore, during discussions with the Parliamentary Secretary of the Ministry of the Interior, Igor Raevs, and the Deputy Head of the State Border Guard Service, Rinalds Beliys, the high level of interaction between the relevant authorities of Uzbekistan and Latvia was emphasized.

The parties expressed interest in further deepening cooperation and noted that Uzbek citizens make up a significant portion of labor migrants in Latvia.

In addition to meetings with official representatives, the Uzbek delegation held talks with major employers and recruitment companies in Latvia, resulting in the signing of cooperation agreements. These agreements address issues related to employment and the protection of the rights of Uzbek citizens.
